April 28, 2007 Towing Experts

Got a call last night about 5pm – D3 dozer stuck. Should be an easy pull, just need a little help to crawl out. Since the call was over 40 miles away, I told him I would do it in the morning, call me around 9am. Call came in, dozer stuck about 2 miles back in a ranch cutting a new fence line. Details ruled out take the 45 ton so I decided to take the 12 ton and the Blazer. Good thing I took the Blazer, the 12 ton decided it did not want to go through a fairly wet area about mid way in. Pulled it out with the Blazer and proceeded on. Got to the dozer and found it was more than a little stuck. Left tracks completely sunk, right track half sunk, root plow in raised position was still about a foot below ground level and a large cedar tree pushed over in front of the dozer. Had to winch the tree out of the way before attempting the dozer. Double line snatch block and away we go. Not a bad pull and he was real pleased to get it out since it was a rental unit that was costing him whether it was being used or not.
