I had the privilege of furnishing 2 wrecked vehicles for the Llano High School students to put on a mock drunk driving accidents with fatalities. This was one of the most realistic performances I have ever seen, taking a total of 2 days to pull off. I arrived with the vehicles and the kids went to work getting the victims arranged. The Sheriff Dept dispatched the police dept, fire department extrication unit and Ems to the scene. Ems then requested med chopper to air lift one. Justice of Peace and funeral home was requested. After all casualties were removed, the entire student body gathered around the vehicles discussing the situation. The following day funerals were held at the schools auditorium. The entire 2 days generated quite a large amount of discussion about drinking and driving. The program had a tremendous impact, as most of these High School kids have been fortunate in not having to experience loosing any of their friends in a vehicle accident. It appears to have been a very productive episode by these kids.
